With my husband in hospital now since Sept. with Alzheimer’s waiting for placement in long term care, which right now looks like a long wait. MARCH 24th Reflection for the Day
All of us are faced with the troubles and problems of daily living, whether we’ve been in Gamblers Anonymous two days or twenty years. We’d sometimes like to believe we could take care of all our problems right now, but it rarely works that way. If we remember the slogan “A Day at a Time” when we are ready t…[Read more]

Today is day 5 of being gambling free. I had a disagreement with my partner. I was already irritable today to begin with. After the arguement, i was pretty wound up. Its normally in these emotional states where i would normally always isolate and bet to distract myself. Tonight, instead i put on my headphones and jacket and went for a long walk.…[Read more]

It really ‘does’ help coming here and finding people who really understand… and get suggestions for how to deal with it. You might also find a GA meeting in your area… or someone who will support you during this time. Also finding something you can do to take your mind to a different place…. maybe a hobby of some kind or whatever… I know…[Read more]

Today is a good day. I’ve been clean from online gambling for almost 6 weeks. I made it to spring break (middle school teacher). I’m packing for a trip to warmth and sunshine. Life if good right now. A few months ago my life was not good. I was in a very dark place. A big thank you to everyone who has shared their stories and words of…[Read more]

To quit, take an honest inventory of what you are doing to quit. Write out a list of what you do consistently to quit.
The length of your list will not tell the full story, but it will tell you something. The pyramid example is a good one because we need a solid base. Bible study and prayer are vital, but we need new activities to replace…[Read more]

Gamblers Anonymous teaches us, through the experience, strength, and hope of the Fellowship, that the worst situation imaginable does not warrant a return to gambling. On Facebook a site just stated that there are now 10 online gambling sites in Ontario…..let alone all the othere sites that are available. Gambling advertising and the easy access is getting totally out of hand and is scary.

You can definitely carry on. Youre not alone. Sending support and love.

Hi The addiction you have along with yourself has hurt everyone on this site and far beyond here.

Hi Theresa
If I may suggest find some counseling and a Gamblers Anonymous meeting where you will find people who understand you and that
you can talk to and share your thoughts and feelings.
And there is a free app that you can put on your phone and computer that won’t let you visit gambling sites.
Wishing you well

March 21 Reflection for the Day
The Gamblers Anonymous Program teaches us that we have an incurable illness. We always get worse, never better. But we’re fortunate in that our incurable illness can be arrested, one day at a time, as long as we don’t place that first bet. High-toned academic research and ivory-tower studies to the contrary, we kno…[Read more]
