Question. If someone offers to pay a debt. Should u take it or not? I am thinking that my debt is a reminder of my mistake and paying it off is my way of reminding me of why I should not gamble. But the person that offered to pay the debt says that the interest on the debt with just get higher and higher. I worry that if the debt is paid I will…[Read more]

    • Paying off the debt isn’t the answer. You need to deal with why you want to gamble. If you don’t you will continue to gamble and get deeper and deeper in debt. Pay off your current debt and stay away

    • Have to agree with frog. Your worried you might think back to even, why not. Well that’s exactly what you need to ask yourself, why not. Getting into more debt, having more stress, shame. It seems like your just finding the easy way back to what is causing all the problems. Why not, write down a list of the reasons why not. And remind yourself o…[Read more]

Thomas Edison recommended that people always keep trying. People think he was the smartest person in the world. But I doubt it. He was one of many brilliant people, but, he became the greatest inventer because he always kept trying. After failure #400 with the lightbulb, he tried again.

Satan attacks forcefully after bad things happen to us. To win that battle, react just like Joseph did: “Run instantly.” Example, car breaks again, money is short, and frustration is high.

Consider reacting by planning “What you will do today, this evening, this hour, and right now.” Realize, that your healthy plan is not what your flesh wants y…[Read more]

Many agree that bad things happen because of bad habits, but most agree that this habit kills love, joy, peace, and purpose to a greater or lesser degree. Consider printing this out and ranking from 1 to 10 (With 10 being best), your level in each category.

Don’t overestimate the pleasure of gambling. Don’t underestimate the destruction of gambling. Consider praying:

Finding our purpose is a top two quitting habit. A person who says, “I’m willing to do what God wants me to do to change the world,” is way more likely to quit. They have multiple reasons to quit, and high motivation to quit.
