I hope you can stop hating yourself . there is zero reason. We can view ourselves or others as bad when we have a mental and emotional illness. It is vitally important to realise that even if stupid mainstrem society hasnt yet. They should have ads on tv depicting devasted gamblers as a deterrent just like pics of a rotting lung on a cigerette package.

Todays GA One Day at a Time reading Oct. 5 was exactly what I needed. It’s easy to go down a rabbit hole of unhealthy thinking when not exposed to external healing words.

Reading these posts (its been too many days from reading) it really helps. Today reading one thing I recognise is for me is another attraction is not so much the winning but that feeling of danger , despersation then suddenly a win even if only temporary.

These comments are a good reminder of all the times, so many times I had big winnings thinking this is great i finally
have a great “win”. Problem was I was thinking this while I still hadnt left the casino. Before the addiction progressed there were
some times I actually left with money. Later anger and frustration why didnt I leave earlier.…[Read more]

I had some periods of great enjoyable abstinence but periods sometimes long when I went back
were progeressivlly worse over the years, worse and worse. Looking back it all started when I got busier at work, fewer GA meetings(went to several a week then none). Looking back thre was this hole, emptiness that was filled by just going to the casino…[Read more]

I am exploring filling the void as well. Over time as I went to fewer meetings and on reflection it was atually the boredom/lonlieness
that got me to walk back in the casino doors

They call it “Game Break”. Usd to b called “Self Exclusion” which is what it really is. If someone is not a compulsive gambler they can just take their own “break”. I recently did th max, 3 years but would have done longer because I have not gabled for3 years before. BUT the first bet to a compulsive gambler is same as first drink/ drug to…[Read more]
