The key is the longer you abstain from the act, the triggers, cravings, and urges will go away. Then?
You need to dig in and look inside your heart as to the WHY you were using gambling???
For me, I was using gambling to Escape, relieve Stress, and trying to COPE with old haunting trauma and abuse in my childhood.
Most times there are reasons and…[Read more] -

I wish you the best, and I know you can handle this and gain your life back. Recovery gives us an even better life than we had B4. We got sucked into the “cycle” of this cunning disease. Our experiences are very similar. Police came to my home and did the same, and I had 2 failed suicide attempts. See, 1 in every 5 problem or addicted gamblers may…[Read more]

Oh my, thank you, JerMe, for the kind words. And See?
You understand, and it is why all of us should listen to other’s stories to gain HOPE and know we can recover. Stories of others have power and are tools to connect and hear those things we do have in common. I am happy you listened to the podcast.

I sure understand, JerMe. Man, do I understand.
Here’s the good news… You know you can be and stay BET FREE because you did it for seven years.
I recently shared my story as a gambling addict on a podcast, and it might help to listen to it as I shared it…[Read more]-
Thank you Cat! I am listening to the podcast. I think itโs you speaking and halfway through I have tears in my eyes hearing your story. I hear so many similarities- the abusive family, the mother who hurts with her words, the mental health problems. Thank you for sharing your beautiful story. I am very touched to hear it. When you asked why do I…[Read more]

But I do come and read almost all the sharing and just a side note to Ken L., thank you for the ‘Thought of The Day’ each day as it helps me stay on course, even though I have strung 14+years of “BET FREE” days.…[Read more]-

There is hope from this addiction and help for gambling. Not sure where you are located, but if you email me, I can find something to help. Keep in mind that addicted gambling is a family disease, not just the addict. And we don’t mean to hurt others around us, but it ends up that way when you continue to gamble money that should have been used…[Read more]

So I don’t and won’t get sucked in to the drama and chaos now that both my parents have now passed… I am keeping busy with March being…[Read more] -

Liz, I too surely understand how you feel. All I can add even having 14-yrs from a BET, the only way to diminish cravings and urges is NOT Gambling. Triggers? You may need to examine the WHY triggers are setting you off. Is it from stress, being bored, or lonely? From an argument or something else? Triggers are a bit different from just urges and…[Read more]

Let’s Remember, Life is short, life will have events happen, so be prepared like I was. With a heavy heart and why I have been away, my father passed away from COVID last week. He lived in Southern Calif., we could not be there due to COVID, he died with none of us being with him.
We can’t have a normal funeral or memorial and because of COVID,…[Read more]

My condolences for your loss particularly now with the constraints that Covid 19 puts on us all and your scenario highlights just how tough it can be. Your urges are born of wanting to escape from your thoughts at this time which is completely understandable but if you give in to your urges the feelings that follow will merely make matters worse…[Read more]

Sorry to hear and you hit the nail on the head, Lisa. “The casinos DO know how to entice you in”… It’s like that old gambler’s motto,
“The House Always Wins.” There is a lot of truth to that old saying.
With this cunning disease that changes our “thinking” and will always try and talk us into going back out as if we have control when we surely…[Read more] - Load More
