Day 4/5 of no Gambling. I had a slip yesterday that cost me $90 but I didn’t lost every last dollar that I had. I resisted strongly today and didn’t play at all. On to the next day.

Day 1 – No lottery daily numbers today. I don’t have much money in my pocket today but at least I didn’t give it all away to gambling. Feeling good for resisting the urge to play. Now on to the next day.

Good job! Keep focusing on the little wins, at least that’s what I keep telling myself. I didn’t play a game today and I’m really proud!

Thanks for sharing your story. Gambling has put me in some bad places as well and brought me shame and regret. I want to overcome this thing once and for all.

Thanks Lindy! Im struggling to overcome this on my own and I could use some support. I think Ill do a virtual meeting to start and take it from there. I do have some hobbies but they are all secondary to my gambling and I need to make them my priority instead of gambling.

    • Hi… It’s good that you came hoping for some help and the realization it’s tough to quit on your own. As well as coming here perhaps it would benefit you to have someone you trust to confide in and help … Of course there’s always the Gambler’s anonymous .. In any case ‘some’ face to face support.I If you don’t have a plan… it’s not easy to…[Read more]

Tough to do it all alone so why not check out your local Gamblers Anonymous meeting where you ca find all the help you will need and want. One of the tools of recovery is called a Pressure Relief Group which deals with the financial side of recovery. Sounds like you could use that. Give it a try. Every journey starts with the first step.

Day 1 No lottery tickets. I spent a few dollars yesterday but today not a single dollar on the daily numbers today. My goal is to not play at all for 30 days starting today. Today is officially in the books and I had the itch a few times but made it thru. Tomorrow is another day and I will continue on my journey to recovery.

Another day without Gambling. I have money in the bank and I’m not behind on any bills for the first time in a while. I’m spending my money on groceries and things for my apartment. I’m glad that I’m making better decisions and I know in my heart that this is the way.

    • That’s awesome readytoquit it’s nice to be in similar mind set and have people to share progress with. I’m staying on track also. The thought of gambling rather than being enticing scares me. I think that’s a good thing.

      Anyways congratulations!

Another day without playing numbers. Money in the bank and Money in my wallet. Felt some strong urges to play but didnt give in.

    • Good for you Readytoquit! It’s totally normal to get urges…..What kinds of barriers have you put into place to make it harder for you to get easy access to “playing the numbers”?? By creating tangible barriers between yourself and your “drug of choice” you press the pause button between the urge in your mind and actually taking action. That’s wher…[Read more]
