The hotline number, 855 222 5542, is set up to direct your call to a volunteer in your area who has an up to date knowledge of all the meetings, physical and virtual, in your particular area. There is always the possibility that the volunteer may be busy with somebody else. If that happens, give it some time and try again.

If your room does not offer you a sponsor, walk up to someone in the room with a lot of recovery who impresses you and ask them to be your sponsor. Worst they can say is no.
