Hello Everyone,
I hit my 30 day mark.
The self exclusion and GA meetings really helped me.
I am learning to deal with stress and how to refocus my thoughts . It was tough but I just had to do it by remaining busy with taking up hobbies and spending more tines with friends and family who are more worthy of my time than gambling.

It’s been over a week since I have self excluded from gambling.
That has helped me. I binged when stressed. This week was a test. Very short on my unit but I was able to manage by resting and visiting a friend in the hospital that had a bad fall due to aging. Amazing visit. I realized how important it is to refocus and put my mind elsewhere on…[Read more]

Hi,
I went to my first GA meeting.
Interesting so many wall of life struggling like me withe same issue gambling.
The the voluntary self exclusion along with GA meetings .
Really helping me cope better and the hope is good.
I pray everyone will find their way including myself to know that there is a way out.
Work was super busy so it helps.

Andrew, self exclusion is something that has worked for me. It is true that cut off is scary but for me it was a relief. I will be adding GA meetings and counselling for recovery.
I have found I that by filling my daily calendar with things to do after work. I keeps my mind focused on other things.
I look forward to upcoming counselling.

One more piece of information that I had to muster the courage to do is sign up for voluntary self exclusion from all Casinos and on-line for a period of 3 years. I have done this in the past but did not get counseling which I found speaking with the advisor who was very helpful and non judge mental who encouraged the GA meetings and counselling…[Read more]

I am going to my first GA meeting this coming Sunday in the evening online then I am dealing with grief in person early next week.

I am from Edmonton and I just signed up today with AGLC voluntary exclusion program.
I got some resources and you can dial 211 for help with addictions or you can call problem gambling alberta at 1-780-461-1259 or go to http://www.problemgamblingalberta.ca
I hope that will help fellow Edmontonian.

You are so right that gambling is a demon.
It robs us from living life we all deserve to live in Freedom of this stronghold.
I not only pray for myself but for all of us to be free and those finding their way to this website.

Good Morning,
It is day two for me.
I am on vacation and it has given me time to look at resources for recovery. I had some time to take a true inventory of self and to do something about this and to get to the root of the problem.

I am glad to see the support out there for gambling.
The comments and sharing are very much appreciated. I feel that I am not alone.
My journey has been a long one about 21 years after my mother passed away.
I have been taking advantage of the resources out there with self exclusion (which I completed last September/21).
