I blew off my regular GA meeting last week, and I have a strong feeling I’m going to blow off tomorrow’s as well. This stems from my not-so-great experience with AA, which I solved by purchasing my own copy of the Big Book and working through the steps on my own. I should at the very least attend and try to find a sponsor.

If I might be so bold as to suggest; if you really want help and believe you have a problem make both meetings. I have been sober for 22 years, but struggling with Gambling. I keep getting close to 90 days then cave under pressure. Get some accountability partners, people you can call when you feel “the urge”. It started small. I’d play online poker or blackjack and I figured since I wasn’t using actual money no damage was done. I took a day trip to a local casino and ended up losing 2/3rds of my Navy pension in four hours. I came back the next day and managed to lose the remaining third.
