Mo50 you are not alone. I feel the same way. But we can’t give up. So many people here have fought their gambling demons and have been successful. I have hope because of them.

I can relate. It was just pure entertainment for me. Now I can’t stop no matter how much I lose. If I win I keep putting it back in till I lose it all. I don’t understand it either. Thank you. I will block myself at the casino tomorrow. Didn’t realize I could do that. I have looked for GA meetings but have not found any in my area. Hoping this venue will help. I have started meeting with a therapist specializing in Gambling addiction. I have only met with her once, but looking forward to continuing with her. I want a…[Read more]

Hi river you mentioned you were at a casino there you can likely self exclude yourself. I did that going back a few years ago when I realized how quickly my money was slipping away. I self excluded at least for a couple of years. I can’t remember if it was two or three years. The time ran out then I wrote to ask permission to go back again t…[Read more]

I can’t believe how quickly it escalated and how I have lost complete control. I need someone to talk to when I get the urge. I was up all night at a casino last night. Hi rivers sorry you are troubled by gambling. Truth is many including myself started just like you. Now landed in a spot needing to stop. It’s so addictive best thing to do is place blockers up so you can’t go back. And respect your decision. After time it does get easier to stay away but it does take time. It’s a struggle rivers You need to find it in yourself to stay away. The deal is with you. I’ve hurt , you’ve hurt we’ve all hurt from gambling. Self exclusion can help. I did that for a time.
It really came down, comes down to my ability to say I’m not going to do that. GA could possibly help with that Counciling.
