I am new here. I have gone a full month of no gambling. However, I am on the verge of losing my family☹️ due to this addiction I have.. they don’t seem to understand why this happened and are very judgemental. I am trying to be better though.

    • Hi Natasha

First and foremost congrats on 30 days that is GREAT !!!

I do not know the exact situation but when we don’t gamble it usually gets us very down which makes things seem much worse, so keep this in mind.

Another thing to keep in mind people who do not battle with addictions are very abrasive when they do not understand how people have a problem and just cannot stop.

It can only get better and all we can do is work on ourselves. Try not to get down to much because the addiction will knock harder at the door to cheer you up.

      All the best

You have gone an entire month without gambling. That’s wonderful!
I really like what FlavorMan mentioned too you. I think that’s the beauty of this site people have different perspectives and it broadens a persons views.
In saying that tell your family and friends that you love them because you do. Keep doing what you are doing.
We can’t erase the past. But the past is just that. We have today and onwards too make a fantastic life for ourselves!

    • Way to go on making it a month without gambling. That is an accomplishment that you should be proud of. I journal almost daily about my struggles and a few weeks ago I wrote about how people label other people. Unfortunately, while the gambling is only one aspect of our life, to outsiders who don’t understand, we are seen only as only a gambler. The good parts of us are overlooked by that label. Do know that while some might only see you as a gambler, you are so much more than that. You have value and purpose. Keep taking it one day at a time and know that people on this site care about you and are here to cheer you on.

    • Congrats on 30 days and for trying to improve for yourself and your family.

While they may come off as judge mental and not understand what you’re dealing with and how hard it can be to break the cycle, they love you.

Stay strong and prove to yourself that they matter to you more than gambling.

    • We are here… it’s a daily journey ❤️
