Look, this recovery process isn’t easy. You don’t just decide one day that you’re not going to gamble anymore and instantly your life is all rainbows and unicorns. It’s a messy tearing down of your old life and ways of thinking so you can build it back up on a more solid foundation instead of one made of quicksand. You’re going to have days when you’re going to want to give up and go back even though you know it’s sure self destruction. You’re going to have to end some relationships with people close to you who prefer you broken instead of whole because they can take advantage of you for their own purposes. There will be days you’re going to feel lost, scared, sad and lonely. It’s all part of the rebuilding process. No matter how hard it gets DO NOT TURN BACK. There’s nothing good back there for you anymore. As uncomfortable as it gets you have to push through the pain and fear. It’s the only way to freedom and happiness. I love you. I believe in you and I’m rooting for you so hard. Fight for yourself like it’s life or death because it is.
