Hi everyone! New here! I have been a gambling addict since around 2006, and it ruined my life. I stopped and tried to recover on my own around 2016. It was hard because the casino felt like my home. However, I was able to get my life back on track. Fast forward to last year. I thought I could dabble in it again without letting it get out of hand. I was sooooooo wrong. It got out of hand without me realizing it (or wanting to admit it). This time though, I am not doing this alone. Earlier this year I have started going to Al-Anon meetings and even open AA meetings due to other hard things I am facing and need to heal from. I am not an alcoholic, but there is no GA where I live. I started going to gain perspective on alcoholism. On 3/18/23, I was finally able to admit my addiction out loud at a meeting. I got so much loving support I wanted to come here for some extra gambling specific support. I have not gambled in 29 days. It’s hard, but I know it will get better. I now know that this is something I will need to work at for the rest of my life. Thank you for listening!
