I just took the 20 questions test & answered yes to 8. My gambling has increased over the past 2 years which coincided with a move to a new state. I’m back home now & looking for work. I’ve been gambling s lot since we returned home and on Thursday, I’ll be receiving a settlement check. I don’t want to spend one more time at the casino and I’m afraid. I’m a member of AA & NA so I know the steps and a lot about recovery as a whole. I’m looking for some practical advice on what members do when that urge hits them? Also, any recommendations on the check? One idea I had was to open a new bank account and put it in savings with no access to a debit card. Should I ask my husband to take my current debit card? He has offered but then says I need to do this on my own and won’t take it. What is my next step?

    • Go right down to a bank and invest it. Into CDs or Bonds. Something you can’t touch for awhile. Maybe that money can be safe for awhile so that you can work on yourself. Your future self will thank you.
