    Two prayer ideas for today:

Pray: “Father help me to continue to realize that 12-step programs and help from Pastors and sponsors are vitally important to my continued recovery.

Pray: “Father help me to make it a habit to always plan my next few days.”

It is vital to plan because boredom is a trigger to relapse. Routine and concrete scheduling can be a lifesaver for us. A schedule, coupled with a passion for a new hobby or sporting activity, allows people to successfully and happily break the cycle of boredom.

    • I pray that I make it through the day. Don’t look back, that’s history. Don’t look forward that’s a mystery. As a self-admitted compulsive gambler, it has been my experience living in the NOW is the best way (at least for me) to work my program. I will say unequivocally Gamblers Anonymous has saved my life. I strongly recommend/suggest that those struggling look into the meetings in your area. It is a 12step program Its member are non-judgmental. I have heard in many meetings two dynamic statements: 1.) Give us 90days if at the end of that time it’s not for you, we will refund your misery, 2.) If you choose to stay we will love you, until you learn to love yourself. The program is often accused of being religious, it is not. It is based my on a spiritual concept. Hope to see you there. I wish everyone a gambling free 24 and I’ll be selfish and keep one for myself.
