I tend to be able to stop myself for a few weeks or even few months sometimes then I always slip. I have tried counselling and some meetings, but that has not been all that helpful. I am in the same boat. I seem to stop for a while, and them BAM, the slip comes out of nowhere and it is terrible. I only have one thing that has worked, and that is helping other gamblers.
