Jesus gave the sinner “Living water.” How do we find it? To me, the Christian who is obviously “different,” who is filled with love and purpose has “Found it.”
The challenge is… We accept Christ, and then struggle in habits which keep us from purpose. To break habits, the rule of 10 says to focus on one new habit now, this week, this month, even though we need all 10. We need to start somewhere.
Learn the “Praise the Lord” habit. This habit fights addiction, depression, and it is a big part of “It.” When David was doing spectacular things for God, he had the constant habit of praising the Lord.
Second, also spend a block of time doing a new physical or mental activity every day. Remember… it is your “work.” Until you are dried out from gambling, doing it might be a bit like work.
Finally, pray fervently about love, and purpose. Then praise the Lord while you learn how to do other activities. Food for thought.

  Durr, thank you for the comments that you make. I have ready many of them and they are a blessing. Please keep me in your prayers as I made the decision to self exclude myself through the state in late 2022 just before gambling was legalized here in Ohio in January 2023. I have had up to 3 months sober at one point. I am committed to hitting my knees daily in repentance and prayer asking The Most High to remove the urge to bet on sports and play Roulette and scratch offs. I truly want to be free and remain free.
