I know I have a super addictive personality and I know I have a problem with slot machines. I play until I have used all my money and then just take more out. It’s like if I start I can’t stop and then I always feel guilty afterwards.

    • Hi LG
Most of us have had or have a similar situation as yours.
Not sure why it happens to some of us it just does.
What a person can do is to take measures to stop. Self exclusion, for casinos I breathed a sigh of relief when I did that. I was scared of the control gambling had over me and tired of losing money.
Stopping for me has been a process. I wish I could have just hit a switch and the desire to gamble be gone. But that’s not how it works.
I found the best way to stop is not to start. I’ve used nearly every measure available to stop.
I have stopped and in the moment am very happy that I have.
Gambling wasn’t improving my life. And I’m pretty sure it’s not helping yours.
If it’s on line gambling you do there’s Gamban that works 100% the first week is free and it’s approximately $50 for a year of blocking it blocks many sites and adds also.
There is more too it joking gamblers anonymous there’s in person or virtual. May help it’s good to share. Seeing a councillor may help. I did for a time and the things she helped me with still resonates in my mind.
Also this site. We are here and you are not alone.
