I am new here. I have been reading previous posts. They are helpful. There are casinos within half an hour drive to my home. I am spending too much time and money there, lately. I read somewhere here that is takes 66 days for a new habit. … Here is what is odd. I am scared of Covid. Several people I know have gotten sick, my boss died of Covid last summer. When Covid closed the Casinos, I was happy. And then, when they opened again, I went, but very limited. Then when cases got bad again, I could stop going. It was great. I thought I had this gambling licked. But now, case counts are down and I feel safe in the Casinos again. I wish my willpower was strong, without a Covid fear. I don’t want to make this into a vax/no vax post. But I am starting to feel like if I feel safe at the Casino, I could feel safe at a GA meeting, which is about an hour away. I fret about wasting the gas to get there, but I just lost way more than gas money at the casino. I am nervous about going to a GA meeting. I was going to go, pre-Covid, but chickened out. I wish there was a phone number of someone there I could connnect with first.
