I couldn’t agree more with jeffk and woundedhealer … Having an open and transparent forum to express the good and bad while trying to stop gambling is vital, and so is this helpful website. ..

If we are to enter recovery or maintain and manage our recovery, we need to have a safe place where we can share with one another all the good and bad, what works or doesn’t work, while maintaining recovery, or someone who might be NEW just reaching out as to NOT SUFFER in SILENCE and be SUPPORTED by others who understand and understand…(Lol.) SUPPORT is KEY while trying to beat this disease. We may often be around family and friends who may not truly understand how difficult it is to stop gambling for the greater good of ourselves. So having places like this, an open community to be able to share, is what helps us on our journey of recovery. It is why I write and journal. It is my form of expressing all I have been through and where I am within maintaining recovery. Never let the “PAST” DEFINE WHO YOU ARE TODAY.

Each of us has the planted seeds that our Higher Power gave us, and it’s up to us to grab on and cultivate those seeds into goodness and grant us a life of open possibilities. Gambling addiction is just a DETOUR to learn from and gain wisdom as part of our life lessons. We then can turn our lives around for the better as we pass what we have learned on to others. Because we don’t want them to be just another STATISTIC of this cunning disease. And that is “The Why” I do all I can to help others who may be suffering in SILENCE.
