Hello everyone. Newbie here and I am relieved and happy to find this resource. I have been struggling and losing my fight with gambling for approximately 10 years. I have been in therapy for 2 years but only beginning to see progress relative to abstinence. Today is payday and for the first time I am not “jones-ing” to gamble online which has been my personal form of hell. I work as a mental health clinician and ironically it was a training on gambling that I was required to take for the state I work in that empowered me and helped me gain a greater understanding of my triggers and help available including this online support. I have selected 08/15/2023 as my last gambling date. It was actually earlier than this but in order to find the real date I would need to look at my bitcoin transactions and I refuse to open my account. I have also put a block on my phone to limit my access to online gambling sites. Does it really work? I don’t know but I am telling myself that it does which for the time is sufficient. I feel much “wholer” than I have in long time. I look forward to growing and learning from this group.
