Gambling out of control again…
I started gambling online in 2001 and by 2004 I dropped out of college due to losing everything and continued the spiral until gambling was outlawed online. (now its legal again in my state 🙁 but I lucked out because legal online gambling in my state covers self exclusion) which bring to actual casinos I kept losing my money but really had no obligations but once I got a decent job in 2013 I stopped gambling except occassionally because I was in a healthy relationship and got married had a daughter then in 2016 everything fell apart and I went to the casino and lost huge and decided to self exclude from my state 2016-2026 and it was successful as I haven’t made a bet in my state since but Im next to Nevada and you can’t really self exclude there so there lies my new problem
In July 2020 I started making monthly or bimonthly trips to the casino and it started out being down 3k but then I won it back and then some so I thought cool Ill come back (I wish I had just lost the 3k from the beginning and I would of probably stopped) then it got worse in March 2021 I came across a lot of money and would lose but not care but still monthly until June 2021 I lost over 10k Then the casino started noticing so starting in Nov 2021 I started getting promos of $500-1000 just to show up and free rooms and these are weekly offers so I started going weekly and at first the promos were nice at first but then my addiction got progressively worse I can never stop when I’m ahead and I started having “I’m not having fun anymore” this started in Dec 2021 so I in short lost all my money and piled in debt and started just going to get the promos to bet with which is exhausting I would rather have just never gotten any promos as I probably wouldn’t have started making weekly trips :/ luckily they are slowly ending my promos because I’m not betting enough but it was four months of misery and I’m concerned they might come back if I get on another winning streak but I got to stop with the promos and all the travel. The worst is winning a bunch then losing it all its almost better to just lose and never win just to lose it all later. The more I win the more I lose.
