Yesterday my grocery cost was $77.77. In the past I may have thought , \”Today I will win if I go to a casino.\” In the present I see this 7777 as a sign that I\’m on the right track/ or my recently deceased mom is smiling at me/ or \”I win \” when I\’m in recovery.

Focusing solely on NOT gambling is like trying to lose weight by obsessing on how you can not eat certain things… sort of. Focus on recovery is expansive and healing.. it has breadth and depth. Body, mind and spirit are addressed and fed with nourishment/wisdom/tools/ resources etc. When we feel sick from abstaining we reach for what recovery…[Read more]

I often hear fellow compulsive gamblers say that friend/loved ones don\’t understand this addiction. Thank God we have each other and resources to aid in offering that compassion and understanding that we can\’t get from people who have not exp. compulsive gambling themselves and who have not yet educated themselves about it.

This picture is in honor my mother’s passing. Soaring towards the light; she’s free. May this picture be inspiring for freedom from addiction and new life while we are still breathing. Breath deeply my friends.

Your ability to reason and judge something as harmful and dangerous is hyjacked by slots ie. their intentional purpose and design. Addiction by design! Stay away.

That is mind control. It’s SOOOO addictive. I”ve done many things in my life and those slot machines are like the snake in Jungle Book. They hypnotize you and pull you in so far that you cannot think straight. I forgot what money even means, how much I have put in, what time it is, how long I’ve been there, my stomach doesn’t tell me I’m hungry…[Read more]

Can\’t stop vs. don\’t get started; which is the key to recovery? which is the road to ruin? Are you stuck in the realm of omg I can\’t stop and reinforcing that belief and behavior? OR are you solid in finding all the ways you can to keep in safe with barriors, helplines, education, healing etc.

    • IF you are going through a rough time I would like to encourage you not to give up. Keep moving through and know that with each step you take you are closer to your rainbow after the storm. That is what I will think of when I get the urge to gamble. Take one day at a time. I have been clean for one week now.

When you gamble did you decided ahead of time to be cautious but could not stop once engaged? While you were mid-stream engaged in gambling did you hear a little voice inside that knew it was getting dangerous and it got drowned out? Have you fully honestly decided that enough was enough and felt the urge to try again against you best interest…[Read more]
