I suggest that you speak to your local public health and they can refer you to counseling. Also get to a Gamblers Anonymous meeting.

That’s unfortunate. Sometimes our gambling mind makes us do stuff like that. As you may have guessed, suicide is not really a good idea as it just makes more stress for your loved ones and they get to carry on without you. That raises more questions as to the future.

Good choice. It’s all part of self protection by thinking of barriers to use so you won’t go gambling.

I’m glad you were find something else to do instead of gambling. That tells me that you are thinking about putting barriers between you and your gambling. That is an excellent idea.

Indeed. Always fun and interesting to hear how gambling affected my life and to read about numerous healthy ways to get help and get better. I’m so glad that I had that ‘teachable moment’ many years ago.

Thank you for your reply. To me it was ground-breaking to accept my addictive behaviour and in turn be able to identify it in others. I can only deal with my own personality and take measures to curb the urges. For me, the self knowledge was a relief and gave me the strength to get into recovery.
