Some are free for 7 days or more. Congrats.
Some tried to pray a bunch of prayers, but…
We usually punch ourselves in the face if we fall, but, even in those cases, it is wise to analyze if we did anything right.
If you prayed fighting habits prayers and felt closer to God, and still fell, acknowledge that. Slipping does not ruin everything. It ruins plenty, but as you pick up the pieces it is wise to acknowledge what you did right as well as what you did wrong.
Example: Jonny started the habit of reading his Bible every day. He did so on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. He remember to do the praise the Lord habit on both Thursday, and Friday. He remembered to pray about running from sin every hour on Thursday, but he did it a lot less over the next two days. Then after going to church on Sunday, someone close to him screamed at him and ripped him apart. Down goes Jonny. His fall did not make him feel like a success.
Second, Jonny felt terrible about it. But, if he felt God closer to him when he prayed, he should still think: I did not make it, but, I acknowledge feeling closer to God. I acknowledge that when I praised the Lord I felt happier.
I was making progress with those prayers. They kept me busy and I felt less temptation. I felt like I had more fight in me.
God knows if you are sincere. Acknowledging a few inches of success when all seems black is just fine.
We are sorry for going back. We plan to not do it again, and… then we acknowledge what we did right. Then we build even more on what we did right, and think about what can do better.
Acknowledging progress is no excuse, we have no excuse. But, it is a wise thing to do.
