I have had no problems with attending both GA and Gamtalk. The great thing about GA is that it is in person vs. Gamtalk is virtual. Nothing beats the in person meetings with all of the raw emotion.

I agree BT if one finds the right room GA is a gift to recovery
I have been in GA for just over 21 years and still attend because in my room we don’t just talk about recovery issues we can dump whatever problems we are dealing with it the middle of the room and move on.

Tino-I go to GA every week and I do not find it dramatic. I do believe finding the right meeting for you is important. I have been in recovery for 5.5 years and have remained with the same meeting the entire time. I believe for me GA is a pivotal part of my recovery. It does get easier, BUT you have to do the work daily. This is a horrible disease that takes hard work and dedication toward the road to recovery. Good Luck. Stick with it. Find a meeting and get a sponsor.

Commit to help whether it is GA, Therapy or even in patient help. When you do commit to help you will find that honesty is the best policy and you will have to divulge your secrets to your wife. Congrats on 6 years:-). I would like to hear your story if you would like to share. I have 139 days. I am very committed to my program and truly enjoy chatting with people on this site. I consider it part of my recovery.

Such a great way to take charge! I love that you see the value in driving to GA and therapy vs. the casino’s. Continue to move forward with a positive attitude and don’t look back. We are here for you if you need to talk or even if you just want to vent. No judgement here just love and support.

Yes I admit it won’t be sobriety if I’m gambling
I hope I didn’t offend you your message sounded like you were offended, I hope not I was just sharing my story. I guess it is offensive that I still gamble while everyone else is having a hard time quitting yet somehow manage. I will not be so offensive next time.
I gambled but I was able to stop at $100 vs stopping till I had $0, I think I’m doing good
