Thank you for taking the time to write this. One day at a time is an easier than it sounds. I have become too numb to the losses. It seems it has become a norm. It is insane.

Sorry you are going through so much with gambling. I have also. Gambling seems to desensitize a person of the value of money.
I found self excluding myself worked the best to keep myself away from gambling. I’ve been trying to stop for a very long time. Gambling certainly gets a grip on a person as you have realized.

I don’t know what gambling can take from a person. It’s not worth it best to stop before there’s too much lost. I hope you can find that within yourself. You are worth more than gifting your hard earned money too the lottos or casinos.

This is helpful. But getting to the point where you are somehow ok with the money being gone is a difficult road. I have been on the lose win roller coaster during this pandemic. I feel completely unbalanced.

Community 3 years, 4 months agoToday I made a payment plan. This feels like a good step as I work at being steady and not rushing through.. slow progress is still progress. Better than continuing to dig a bigger hole. Today has been a good gamble free day!

Hi Gabs! 🙋🏽♀️ i just got through another binge. Another costly one.. $7K this time. I can’t seem to control myself. I lose all common sense .. I have now had 2 very devastating binge episodes and I’m not sure I can stop.

I have been gambling for many years.. it is a crazy roller coaster.. ups and downs .. not a good way to live . Others have done it so I am convinced that if we really want to STOP, we can.

Try with everything you’ve got to STOP NOW! I have been there with the big win then the subsequent loses. It does not get better; only worse. Cut your losses as soon as you possibly can and stay away from the machines. They will not only suck your money but the life out of you. STOP NOW!

You’re right it doesn’t get any better. I have lost so much and it makes me sick to my stomach. I wish I can hug everyone that is going thru this thing call addiction and tell them it’s ok. But all I can do pray for anyone who is fighting to quit. God is good. He will see us thru this.

That moment when the crazy high is gone and the bank withdrawals start to hit is painful! Going through that now.. watching the numbers decrease is awful! This needs to stop.

I am sorry you’re going through this rough patch. I think most gamblers are on a roller coaster of highs and lows. It is unhealthy for sure. The financial part of it can be devastating.

My family knows I burn through money when I go to the casino. I can win and take the money home sometimes, but on my binges, it doesn’t seem to matter how much I win or lose. At some point, my brain stops being logical and I lose all sense of reality! Get support.. it doesn’t make the financial devastation but it may help relieve you of that feeling alone.

This is so true ! I find myself thinking 🤔 why didn’t I just keep the winnings?? I have won enough to give me a decent cushion but I just go back and give it back! Serious 🧐 mental flaw!
