Hello, What a world wind. How do you stop this cycle? I’ve won a good amount in the past and this in return has causing me to think I’ll win again. Pouring all my HARD EARNED (full-time job and a live-in-health care provider) money every week into a pool that will never return it back to me thus I know! Why do I keep doing it , knowing this. I feel so stupid but yet continue to do it. SO lost right now!

First thing compulsive gamblers aren’t stupid people or bad people we are sick people who need to get well.
And my experience is that there is no cure for our illness but it can be arrested with counseling and Gamblers
Anonymous meetings.

Your question of course is one many of us ask ourselves…. If we know gambling is a problem.. ‘why oh why do we keep doing it’…. Because sometimes we rationalize and think we just enjoy it… but then the truth we really know is that we’ve lost the ability to just ‘stop’… Unfortunately that’s the only cure… as is any other addiction… Hope you find the strength and will to do so… thinking of you.. take care Lindy
