It is very concerning that there is so much advertising about gambling now especially on TV. It is everywhere. When u go to a convenience store the tickets are right there in front of you and signs all over about the big jackpots. I notice there are a lot more people posting on this site. Not to be paranoid but gambling has become an epidemic. The battle to stop advertising alcohol and tobacco has been won. We all need to work on the government to ban advertsing about gambling which we all know doesn’t tell the sad truth about it.

I agree about the advertising. Possibly the government would make a change if enough people requested it. It’s a good idea!
@serenity unfortunately it is new in Canada that it is legal so since the government has put its hands in it they support these adds because it makes them money. I am in another industry that they say they want to protect the children so put heavy sanctions yet are hypocritical about this. It is truly impossible to watch sports on cable television with all the adds, i had to cancel mine. Streaming seems to be much better even if I know im playing with fire watching these days……..also i hope you are well and the paintings are still keeping you busy
Flavourman it’s nice to hear from you. I think you are right about our government they’d be slow to change when they are making money from gambling. What I did notice the advertising is much worse in BC than Manitoba although there are lots of ads here also. I’m sorry the government is making things difficult for your business. Hopefully that changes. You are right they are hypocrites.
