This addiction isn’t going to call on you when you’re strong and thinking clearly……it’s too clever for that. It waits patiently for your weak moments to strike. So make sure you have your “roadblocks” in place. By creating barriers between yourself and gambling you effectively press the pause button. And it prevents acting impulsively…. because once your addiction is in the drivers seat it’s almost impossible to push the off switch until the damage is done. If beating this demon were easy everybody could do it……but the reality is that the success rate is small so take your recovery very seriously. This addiction doesn’t just want to leave you broke…..it also wants to isolate you from everyone that loves you and bury any chance of you having the happy life you deserve. If anybody has a “roadblock” that’s working for them please feel free to share it in the comments below so we can all benefit. My most effective one right now is that I cut up all my credit cards and I have no access to big sums of money. ….just a daily allowance for essentials. I love you guys and I believe in you.❤️❤️❤️

    • This is such solid and practical advice. Completely relatable and easy to process. Be aware. Set up roadblocks(I LOVE that term!) Stay in control as much as you can.

Tonite I made it past the casino for the 5th time in a row. I thought about every success story and every struggle story here. I made it. I can’t thank you all enough. One new “roadblock” in my arsenal – I want to be a success story more than anything else.
