Hello, i have never done something like this. Im 27 and discovered online betting when i was about 21. I have been on and off with betting on various sites. I have used almost every website available and have self excluded from majority of them, but i always find a way to get back on. I was winning a lot and i told myself i would stop once i reached a certain number, well you can guess what happened. I am now in $8000 in credit card debt from sports betting. I have been looking for help but never got serious with it until this moment. I have had times where i have went months without it, but then I relapsed. Im hoping others like me can help me realize what im doing. Me and my girlfriend are getting more serious and i know it bothers her, i have done it all, used to her to make accounts for me, lied to her, asked for money to gamble from her. I just want to focus on my career and family and im hoping this group can help. Thank you for reading and letting me join.

    • Hey Brandon!

Welcome to the group. I too am fairly new here with a similar situation at hand. Online gambling is the worst simply because of how easily accessible it is. Push a button make a deposit… win some money, lose a ton more. It drove me to the point where I was literally yelling and smacking myself because it was an endless loop of highs and lows, lows that ultimately made me break down to my fiancé. Coming to this community was my first step in recovery because everyone in here is experiencing or has experienced the same thing that you are going through and I’m here to tell you that it’s ok to feel a bit confused or lost because I definitely did. I was going on 3 days and then relapsed but this relapse made me feel a different type of low. A low that I feel is rock bottom. Yesterday was a much better day and today is another. What I’m trying to say is that we are here for you. Make friends, discuss your problems and face them head on. You’ll be quite all right here. I know I am!

      • Thank you for the kind words, i would like to mention “winning a lot” is actually winning some of my thousands i have lost back. I hope you stay strong and maybe talking to your Fiancé about it more will help! We are all in this together!

    • Hi Brandon
      Welcome too this site.
The first thing I can think of with your girlfriend you need too give her permission too say no too you when you want her help too side you in gambling. And she needs too stick too that. Also ask if you haven’t already for her support.
If you carry on your debt will grow instead of the things you want and need in life.
You need too do some soul searching possibly with a councillor or maybe ga meetings may be a fit for you in real and they have ten on line. If you are looking for links request that here I don’t have one as of yet but I know there are people here that can support hat for you.
Your not alone. It’s one day at a time that’s very important.
