    I need some help

    • Hi jodi71,
Depending on where you are located? There are options for treatment for gambling addiction, and yes, some do use medication-assisted therapy to help diminish and aid with the cravings and urges. For example, when I was entered into treatment by way of my suicide attempt, I was in crisis, after a few days becoming stable and better I was taken for an evaluation and brain scran and learned not only was I addicted to gambling, but I depleted the chemical in the part of the brain that gives us “pleasure and reward, energy, emotional feelings” and such. I was given Wellbutrin and was on it for almost two years until the chemical began to produce again on its own. I have had 7 people who I have mentored that went through medication-assisted treatment. All seven did very well and have been successful in long-term recovery from gambling.
Research to see what is available where you live. Also? If you have Lottery offerings they too have information and a Hotline to call if you have a gambling problem and will pay for your treatment. My treatment was paid for by the Oregon State Lottery. Both my treatment and my 30-day stay in the crisis center.

      • Thank you for replying..I have tried Wellbutrin before I found I couldn’t sleep I was anxious no appetite and was shaking. That is interesting about the brain scan. I have been googling things about rewirin* my brain. I need to make new paths. I am going to a meeting tonight wish me luck ☘️
