Thought this would be a good forum for exchanging experiences and ideas. I’m a long-term slot machine gambler who takes year-long self-exclusions, with short bursts of gambling in between. I have found the self-exclusions the best option for me when the gambling feels out of control and not fun anymore. Mind you I love gambling for the hit of endorphins and finding non-addictive substitutes is not easy. 🙂

  Hi Marilyn, I am new here and struggling with accepting that I am a problem gambler, but I know deep down that I am and it’s out of control and, like you said, not fun anymore. I appreciated reading your post as I am similar with slot play and the self exclusions. As soon as my self exclusion is up, though, all hell breaks loose. Anyhow, I just wanted to say thank you for sharing and this resonated with me and made me feel less alone.
