I have been gambling for 26 years, attended several GA meetings, been evicted numerous times, gambled away my retirement, bounced checks, lied consistently to family and friends, owe too much money, and have started my life over several times. I moved to a state with no casinos, in hopes of ending my addition, but of course, I found a way to visit one in another state. Although, I haven’t gone to a casino since COVID began, I now play scratch-offs and lottery on a weekly basis. I hope this is a safe place for me to reveal my successes and failures as I continue to struggle with my addition.

To take part in chat or attend a meeting all you need to do is sign into gamtalk and when the menu bar appears click on chat and you will see two different chatrooms. The one on the left is where daily chat takes place as well as the Monday night 10 pm est meeting that I chair takes place, and on Tuesday nights at 9 pm est we have a outreach counselor from BC Canada that moderators a session of questions and sharing by members. Hope that helps.

Hi JJ – thanks for sharing your story. This disease is so difficult. I found similarities between us while reading your story. It sounds like you’re trying hard to prevent yourself from gambling. I’m glad you’re on here talking about it. It means you want to change and that’s where all of us have to start.
